We will meet outside Arbigland House to start our exploration of the mainly wooded gardens. The gardens are not normally open to the public in October, so this will provide an unusual opportunity to see it in Autumn colours. The present owners are reclaiming the house and gardens which had been abandoned for a long period, and I am sure will be keen to talk about their project and answer questions!
Since the West of Scotland is known for its inclement weather we have negotiated a tour of the house and a lunch to give us an option of warm and dry for a hour or so!
The gardens extend down from the house to the estuary shoreline with sections of more manicured woodland, and some more natural woodland.
There are unpaved paths throughout the gardens,
There will be a charge of £20.00 for this walk, payable on the day. This will cover entrance, lunch, and a tour of the house for those that would like to see it.
