The Blue Door/Rocks of Solitude walk is a rambling and varied walk along the River Esk, accessed via the Blue Door just North of Edzell.
The River Esk flows along this valley, and whilst there are some steep bits down to it, there is a lot of more gentle areas, some old outbuildings, some rock pools, and some watery rocks which are easily accessible.
The whole route is about 90 minutes from start to finish.

There is a good pathway throughout the walk, with some hillier areas if you want, but mainly on the flat side. Some of the more interesting flowing parts may need some scrambling and waterproof boots.
