Two guided tours - in Brixworth, Northamptonshire.
The day includes a visit and guided tour of the Anglo-Saxon church in the morning plus a guided walk through the old part of the village to see the other notable buildings and the stories around them in the afternoon.
The Saxon church building is rather interesting – the fabric of the building includes Roman bricks and stones in the oldest parts and architectural tweaks right through until the 21st century. There’s a churchyard to explore as well as the building, see Wikipedia for more background and this video to see a quick flythrough.
Obviously a village with an Anglo-Saxon church will have other old buildings and we have also arranged a guided tour of the old part of Brixworth village to see the notable buildings and the stories around them. As a taster for this part of the day one can view this video.
The plan for the day is to meet at the Heritage Centre which will be our base and can be used any time during the day - useful if the weather gets interesting. The plan is as follows:
| Start | End | Activity |
| 10:00 | 10:30 | Arrival at the Heritage Centre, welcome and coffee/tea |
| 10:30 | 11:30 | Guided tour of All Saints' Church |

| 15:00 | 16:30 | Free time for photography |
| 16:30 | 17:00 | Wrap up discussion at the Heritage Centre |
There’s a £15.00 charge per person, this covers the cost of the guided visits and the rental of the Heritage Centre as our base for the day. Please pay the walk organiser directly.
For lunch there are many options in the village - for sit down food there's two pubs and two coffee shops, plus take-away food shops. You're welcome to bring food and use the Heritage Centre during the lunch break.
