One of the Magnificent Seven London Cemeteries.

In 40 green acres of peace and quiet, rejuvenate your spirit while exploring an astounding array of magnificent Victorian monuments honouring great Victorian scientists, engineers, inventors, and artists and so much more. The Friends of West Norwood Cemetery

Established in 1837, West Norwood Cemetery is one of London's 'Magnificent Seven' cemeteries and is the resting place of lives well lived – from people who changed the course of Victorian society through the arts, food and drink, and inventions, to more recent people such as one of the leaders of the Windrush generation.

The cemetery was one of the first Victorian cemeteries to open in London and is home to over 65 listed monuments, from Sir Henry Tate to Mrs Beaton.

I look forward to showing you the delights of West Norwood Cemetery and its photographic opportunities.

Accessibility

There are wide tarmac footpaths leading around and through the cemetery. A main driveway leads from the main gate up to the crematorium.

The path gradients range from easy slopes to steep inclines.

Grass areas may be uneven. Paths through wooded areas are very uneven and extra care should be taken; you may wish to wear sturdy walking shoes.

There are bench seats available throughout the grounds.
