Eartham Woods are one of the better woodland photography locations in the area. I'm hoping that there will be some autumn colour when we walk there.
We will do a circular route through the wood which is about two and a half miles long.
There will be plenty of subject matter as there is a variety of trees and undergrowth. Expect it to be muddy.
Bring a packed lunch and something to drink. There is a café at West Dean Gardens about fifteen minutes drive away which could be an an option if everyone coming would prefer that.
The walk will go ahead if the weather is a bit damp but will be postponed if heavy rain is forecast.
These photos were shot on 15 August 2024, the colours will be very different on the walk.

Meet in Eartham Woods Car Park (Google maps will find it).
What Three Words: ///birthing.tolerable.canyons
There is rough ground, and given the time of year, I would expect plenty of mud.
The walk is about two and a half miles. This location is on the South Downs so we will be gaining about sixty meters in height. the slope is gentle. There is a fallen tree across one of the paths, but it is low (about 1 foot to step over).
