The Woods of the Mendip Hills

There are many wooded areas within the Mendip Hill National Landscape (formally Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty).

Some are very old with lots of deciduous trees, others are more modern coniferous plantations. We will visit two, maybe three, sites, depending on how the day goes. That will afford the opportunity for a variety of woodland images.

A pub lunch is planned for in between the first and second woods, The pub caters for a wide variety of diets and has good 'welfare' facilities.

Previous visits to these woods with the RPS Landscape Group have seen some interesting images being made using classic woodland, ICM, ME and macro techniques; it is amazing how a group of people can see such different things despite being in the same place at the same time. 

Finishing time will depend on whether the group is up for a  third location, time available, and, inevitably, the weather. Whatever happens, sunset is at 18:15 and we need to be out of the woods and our way home before then. 

Please note; the follow up talk is pencilled in for a physical meeting on 29 October, but final decision will be made with participants nearer the time.
