Castle Fraser image

Castle Fraser woodland is managed by the National Trust. The woods are around 0.5 miles from the car park but we will meet at the cafe in the quadrangle at 1045 for coffee and a briefing. We have also booked a table for lunch at approx 1 pm and to provide shelter in case of inclement weather. The woods are mixed and there is a lake that is one of the premier sites for breeding of damselflies. There is also a walled garden close to the castle that should contain interesting flowers, foliage and fruit.

Castle Fraser Woodland

Walk Directions

Meet at the cafe in the quadrangle at 1045 for briefing and coffee prior to setting out for the walk. Note that the car park has a charge for non-NTS members.

Accessibility

The cafe is readily accessible for almost all people, but the woodland walk itself is not readily accessible to those with limited mobility. However, the walled garden is accessible to all.
