The first part of our walk will be the loop in Sowdley Wood. This circular approximately 4 mile walk starts and finishes at the Clunton Coppice/Sowdley Wood Car Park. The entrance and the car park are free. There are a large number of tree varieties along the way, that ensure a colourful autumn palette. There is also a possibility to find fly agarics. Sections of the trail have exposed roots and can get extremly muddy so good footwear (wellies) is essential. After the lunch at the car park (please bring a packed lunch with you) we will be exploring the Clunton Coppice reserve (approximately 1,5 mile walk).
What to bring: A range of lenses between 14mm to 200 mm can be used. Macro lenses can be useful if you are a fan of nature details.
What to wear: Bring wellies/walking boots and waterproofs. Please wear a long-sleeved shirt and trousers, as some parts of the path can be overgrown.
Food and drink: There are no cafes or shops, so please bring a packed lunch and water with you. Also, there are no benches or tables at the site, so the folding chairs will be useful.
Toilets: There are no toilets apart from the “nearest bush”.
Bad weather plan: The trip will be rescheduled or cancelled if the weather forecast is really bad. If there is light rain or mist, the trip will go ahead.
