Blackpool

Coastal
Walk Leader
Tim Gilbert
Monday, October 16, 2023 - 13:30

The walk will start near the south end of Blackpool promenade and we may include the sandhills and beach in Lytham St. Annes as well as Blackpool promenade and beach. Depending on the weather there may be opportunities to photograph wave action, sunset, and manmade structures such as the tower, pier and pleasure beach and we will have the backdrop of Blackpool's famous illuminations. The promenade is flat easy walking but there are steps down onto the beach and the sand is likely to be soft and wet. The walk has been set for a monday when the promenade should be quieter. The walk should remain within about a mile of the start point in either direction. We will start just after high tide and can stay until sunset and the switch on of the illuminations at circa 18.30 if the weather is appropriate.
