The Wey and Arun Canal has its visitor centre at Loxwood. There are several locks within easy walking distance and some bridges, both old and new.
I'm no wildlife photographer, but the canal environment does encourage flora and fauna and even I managed a butterfly shot, although they won't be around when we are walking.
As of writing this in mid-August 2025 the water levels are low in the canal, as they are across the country. Hopefully by the time we visit in the latter half of October there will have been some rain and the canal will have refilled.
The autumn colours should be getting started by then as well.
We will adjourn to The Onslow Arms whose car park we will be meeting in. They have an extensive menu, the summer one is here, it will change in the autumn.

We'll meet at the car park by the Onslow Arms in Loxwood; ///punctured.closes.trample

Drive through the car park into the overflow, it's a long parking area. We'll meet in that car park.
The canal towpath is easy to walk on although there are slopes and some steps around the locks. The steps can be avoided. If we do get rain it might get a little muddy.
