RPS Northern Walk
We will be enjoying an exploration of the coast at South Shields, Where there is a choice of Little Haven or Sand Haven beaches, (same beach just either side of a car park). There is a never ending supply of subject matter at the coast, and you can click away at whatever floats your boat (quite literally); the beach, the mouth of the Tyne and surrounding areas, the local wildlife, architecture and more.
The approach to the beach is easily accessed, with both sides being flat and straight from the footpath, however, there are a lot of rocks at the Little Haven side of the beach, near to the pier wall so care needs to be taken if you choose to wander in that direction.
Footwear, please wear shoes/boots suitable for a day at the beach, I would not suggest barefoot walking, as there may be broken glass buried in the sand. The beach is clean and usually tidy, but it is the holiday season and people tend to overlook their litter on occasions.

Meet in SandHaven car park, at 10.30. The tide will be out at that time giving maximum opportunity..
Parking Charges apply, there is no charge for Blue Badge Holders.
Easily accessed by all, although wheelchair users will not find the sand very user friendly, there is a large paved area which still allows for excellent photo opportunities.
