Bewl Water at Sunset

Bewl Water is the largest reservoir in the south east and has a total walk around it of 20 kilometres (12.9 miles). The reservoir was man made and opened in 1978 supplying water to parts of Kent and Sussex. It is renowned for its beautiful nature walks.

There is always something to see and photograph, whether it’s landscape, nature or water sports.

I recommend good shoes or hiking boots as some of the tracks are uneven. On the day we will only cover part of the trail due to time constraints.

Walk Location

51.079559675776, 0.39198875427246

Walk Directions

As you come to Bewl Water main entrance, ( Bewlbridge lane TN3 8JH ), follow the signs to the car park and we will meet at the Waterfront Cafe main entrance at 1045 for a 1100 start. (Refreshments are available all day at the café).
Parking is via the Ringo app or you can pay inside the cafe if you prefer; it’s £7.00 all day.

Accessibility

The tracks are used by walkers, cyclists and horses and are either dirt or gravel paths. The distance we will cover is around 6 miles, which should be ok for most people. I will keep to the areas where it is flat and have good walking paths, nevertheless , good shoes or walking boots are recommended.
The walk should last no longer than 4 hours.
