Classic view in Bath City Centre

Bath is well known for its Georgian architecture and the walk will take in a number of classic locations like the Royal Crescent, the Abbey and Great Pulteney Street.

Royal Crescent

Tunnel House

There will also be some 'hidden' locations, off the tourist trails, where you can photograph some of the more 'industrial' parts of the city, railway bridges, arches and canal locks, and some of the more modern buildings.

Holbourne Museum

Gardens Wall

Bath Station Underpass

All over the city there are interesting architectural features for those who prefer a more abstract approach. If time allows, there may be an opportunity to head for some higher ground for some views over the city and, if you bring a long lens, some interesting roofscapes.

The leader has lived in Bath for 30 years and knows the city well and can adapt the walk to fit in any specific requests (within reason!).

Walk Directions

Meeting point to be confirmed, but will be easily accessible from train station, bus station and Park & Ride drop off points.

If you have a van, please be aware that Bath operates a Clean Air Zone and there is a charge to entry the city centre area. The change does NOT apply to private cars.

Car Parking in the city centre is limited, and expensive, but there are car parks available. The Park & Ride service is a good option.

The follow-up Talk meeting is booked to take place at RPS House in Bristol, but remote access can be arranged for those unable to attend in person.

Accessibility

Most of the walk will be on paved walkways or level paths but there may be some areas that are only accessible via steps.
