A view of Battersea Power Station peaking out from behind the Frank Gehry designed Prospect Place

A Short walk from Vauxhall to the recently refurbished Battersea Power Station.

Apart from the Power Station itself, there are many interesting examples of modern architecture., which include:

  • Vauxhall Bus Station
  • The modern buildings recentlky built around Vauxhall
  • US Embassy, with the nearby High level Swimming Pool
  • Battersea Power Station, which has recently been reopened and the surrounding developments.

There are many ways of getting to/from the two ends.

PLEASE NOTE.

Battersea Power Station requires Public Liability Insurance if you want to use a tripod, and do not recommend their use on a weekend anyway, so best not to bring one!

Walk Location

Vauxhall to Battersea Power Station

Walk Directions

We will meet at the Pret a Manger, at the bottom of Vauxhall Bridge, ready to leave by 10:30.

It is a short walk to Battersea Power Station (about 1 mile), but we will explore the area via the 'back streets', before reaching Battersea Power Station, which has many places to eat as well as to photograph.

I will provide rough maps on the day, but some flexibility will be needed.

Accessibility

It is about a mile as the crow flies, all on the flat, so should be OK for most people. Battersea Power Station is wheelchair friendly.
