This walk will be based around Whitehaven harbour. The harbour was first built in the 1600s and extensively enlarged in the nineteenth century when Whitehaven became the 2nd largest ship building port in Britain by tonnage. Parts of the harbour were modernised following EU grants in the last twenty years
This has left a mix of Georgian and modern architecture together with a marina which houses more than 100 yachts.
All this makes for a fascinating combination of subjects for photography from the traditional urban landscape to ICM and creative photography.
I will be on hand to provide advice on location and techniques as and when requested
There are a number of cafes where we can break for refreshments
The plan is to meet in the afternoon with a view to shoot up to and including sunset (6pm) for those that want to.

We will meet at 1pm on the public pay and display Queens dock car park on the edge of the harbour - what three words : https://w3w.co/lobby.grabs.pumps.
There is a 2.2m height restriction on the entrance to the car park. Cost of parking is £4.50 for 12 hours.
Heading towards Whitehaven from the North and West follow the A66 West to Bridgefoot then the A595 for approx 8 miles to Whitehaven, turn left onto the A5094 towards Whitehaven town centre. At the bottom of the hill turn right at the traffic lights. The car park is opposite Tescos.
The harbour and surrounding is all surfaced either tarmac or on some of the piers sandstone which can be uneven in places. It is nearly all accessible by wheel chair.
Walking around the harbour you are never more than 0.5m or 15mins from the car park.
There are several cafes around the harbour which have toilet facilities for customers. Tesco's (opposite the car park) also has a cafe and toilet facility
