Golden leaves in Manesty

We will meet in Keswick at the Lakeside carpark from where we will get the 10am Keswick launch (Ticket to be purchased £14.75) around the lake getting off at Brandelhow. The launch allows photographs of the scenes around Derwentwater. If we are lucky there could be mist on the lake adding to the atmosphere.   Derwentwater lake shore

Getting off at Brandelhow we will walk through Manesty woods around Derwentwater. You will be able to photograph woodland scenes, lake shore scenes both grand and intimate, Autumnal colours should be in evidence. We will pass various Bays with views across the lake. At the southern end of Manesty the woods become more open allowing views towards Castle crag & 'The gates of Borrowdale'.

Castle Crag

Using the boardwalk towards the 'China Bridge' give lots of visual interest, grasses & reeds in the wetlands at the southern end of the lake.

As we near the end of the walk we can visit The Lodore Falls Hotel for refreshments before getting the Launch back to our starting point at Keswick.
