Kincraig, Highland

Woodland
Walk Leader
Janet Benson
Friday, October 18, 2024 - 13:30
Capacity
6

We shall meet at Kincraig woods and travel a few miles down the Road to Invertromie Woods. Kincraig are predominantly birch woods  close to Loch Insh. Invertromie are mainly birch but have lovely Aspens. If time permits, there are more mixed woods on the south side of Loch Insh. Usually bracken and fungi to photograph as well

Walk Location

Kincraig, Highland

Walk Directions

From the entrance to the woods follow path but there is opportunity to explore on your own. However it is easy to get lost, so I suggest keeping someone else in sight. The path at Invertromie is straightforward.

Accessibility

Meet on the B1952 between Aviemore and Kingussie at the gated entrance to the woods, about 1km east of Kincraig turn off. There is space for a few cars but this can be dealt with once we know the final number of participants. It would be better to car share to other locations. OS map ref 824052
