The first part of our walk will be the Whitcliffe Loop. This circular 2 mile walk starts and finishes at the Whitcliffe Car Park. The entrance and the car park are free.
There are a large number of tree varieties along the way, including beeches, birches, oaks, larches, sweet chestnuts, and firs that ensure a colorful autumn palette.
Sections of the trail have exposed roots and can get muddy so good footwear is essential.
After the lunch at one of the car park benches (please bring a packed lunch with you) we will move to the Vinnals Car Park (a few minutes drive), where we will explore the All Ability Trail loop. This circular 1 mile walk allows us to explore a variety of habitats, including two little forest ponds.
What to bring: A range of lenses between 14mm to 200 mm can be used. Macro lenses can be useful if you are a fan of nature details.
What to wear: Bring walking boots and waterproofs. Please wear a long-sleeved shirt and trousers, as some parts of the path can be overgrown.
Food and drink: There are no cafes or shops, so please bring a packed lunch and water with you.
Toilets: There are no toilets apart from the “nearest bush”.
Bad weather plan: The trip will be rescheduled or cancelled if the weather forecast is really bad. If there is light rain or mist, the trip will go ahead.
