Dunninald Castle was built in 1824, is situated 3 miles South of Montrose, and although still a family home it opens the Castle to guided tours, and the gardens are open via Scotland's Gardens scheme.
There is a wild garden, with extensive bluebells and snowdrops, and a walled garden with flowers, fruit and vegetables filling every corner. The Wild garden has a substantial Beech avenue, and a walk through general woodland and is about 1 mile long. The Walled garden is part of another circular walk of also about 1 mile.
The walk will include access to both gardens, and tea/coffee and shortbread will be served by Dunninald Estates.
There is a £10 entry fee for the day, which includes the access and refreshments.
