Dating back to 1869, this garden. was gifted to the nation in 1969. It then became Logan Botanic Garden, a regional Garden of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh.
Enjoying an almost subtropical climate, plants from Australia, New Zealand, South and Central America and Southern Africa thrive.
Amongst its many attractions are:
- Palm Trees and Tree Ferns
- Eucalyptus and Giant Gunnera
- A Walled Garden with a large fish pond
- The Logan Conservatory (a medium sized building housing a range of tender exotic plants from South Africa)
Following a brief introductory talk from a member of staff at the Gardens, participants will be able to wander about at their leisure. The group will arrange a time to meet for lunch/refreshments.

An Electric Vehicle Charging point is installed; it is a double 7KW charge point and is free for visitors to use.
Unfortunately, there is no public transport available on a Sunday. If you require transport to the gardens from the Stranraer area, please contact the organiser.

Being a Botanical garden open to the general public, the terrain is generally flat with very well maintained gravel paths. No special footwear is required. There are however some old stone steps and some rougher grass paths which may not be suitable for all.
