Pencarrow House and Garden is a Cornish gem close to the old county town of Bodmin. The Grade 11 gardens are beautiful whatever the season and range from formal landscaping to ancient woodland. In April we will expect a display of camellias and rhododendrons, over 400 varieties, as well as the trees and shrubs growing between the huge granite boulders of the Victorian rock garden. The American garden is also interesting along with the ponds. For those interested in prehistory there is the Iron Age hill fort to explore.

Pencarrow House and Gardens are located between Bodmin and Wadebridge off the A389. From the A389 it is best to look out for and follow the brown signs to the location.
The paths are hard, gravelly and mostly level but as the gardens are listed and old, some of the walkways are uneven. There are gentle slopes on the walk to the American Gardens. There are steps around the garden. The more robust mobility scooters may be able to access the slopes to the lake.
