Sparrow's Nest Gardens and Belle Vue Park nearby offer some excellent opportunities for parks and gardens photography.
There is also the Lowestoft Lighthouse nearby, the Ravine which features an ornate bridge and the coast.
In Sparrow's Nest gardens is an excellent cafe, the Martello Coffee House - which closes at 4pm.
We can start at the Cafe for coffees, teas and snacks. and then wander around the gardens in the two parks at our leisure. You can of course get cracking with the photography straight away if you don't want any refreshments.
You can then carry on with more photography afterwards as time allows. The coast is the other side of the car park. There is a long promenade which leads you towards Gt Yarmouth in a Northerly direction and Ness Point (the UK's most easterly point) and a wind turbine in a Southerly direction.
Sensible footwear required, particularly if going onto the beach afterwards.
The RPS will cover us for both the parks and the coast, but please read the risk assessment provided for this walk and look out for yourselves and others in the group. Thanks.

Sparrows Nest Gardens are situated in North Lowestoft, Suffolk. Sparrows Nest, Whapload Rd, Lowestoft NR32 1XG
We will meet and park at the free car park opposite - Whapload Road Car Park - there is a height restriction (not sure what it is, but camper vans cannot get in).

The parks and gardens have good concrete footpaths, there is quite an incline from Whapload Road to the top of Belle Vue Park, however, it is not far and you can take it at an easy pace.
The promenade along the coast is a wide concrete path that is popular for dog walkers and cyclists, so please be aware of them. Access to the beach is via steps. I have not been there for a while, but last time I went there was quite a drop to the beach in places from the promenade, so please be careful before going onto the beach.
