Photographers will meet at the cafe at Duthie Park Winter Gardens to undertake photography of the various plants and structures. To facilitate access to some of the more cramped areas, two teams will be created, in which half of the group will act as photographers assistants porting and holding cardboard sheets to eliminate distracting backgrounds, or holding reflectors/lights to change to angle of illumination etc. After 1h or so, we'll meet up in the entrance way and photographers from the first group will become assistants to the second etc. We'll take a lunch break and then people are free to either leave, walk around the external area of the gardens etc, or journey back into the rooms on their own.
There are multiple rooms with different climates and so you'll need to be aware of the potential effects of moisture on lenses. Its an opportunity for using telephotos and monopods, particularly in cramped areas. Also good opportunities exist for macro and lensbaby photography. Tripods may be an encumbrance and so think about adjusting settings to allow hand-holding your camera.
